To Whom It May Concern:
If you are looking for a dynamic and innovative art teacher for the open position in your school district, then I am your ideal candidate. My goal as an art teacher is to give students the best possible education with opportunities to grow artistically and creatively. Through a strong curriculum that reflects the Common Core and the NYS learning standards, and through exposure to the vast world of the visual arts, I am determined to prepare my students for the future with a solid foundation in the Arts no matter what their future endeavors may be.
As an art teacher, there is no greater joy for me then when a student realizes they can do art. To ensure each student comes to this realization, I plan my course curriculum with new lessons that excite and engage the students. My lessons are not only reflective of their previous years’ experiences, but also gradually build upon each other so that by the end of the course, each student has improved their skills and has gained valuable knowledge and experiences in art. Aside from what I teach in class, I am also the proud advisor to the Art Club and the award-winning student newspaper, The Tiger’s Roar. Some of my proudest accomplishments at the high school, outside of the classroom, have been creating a mural with the Art Club, orchestrating a school-wide art show, reinstating the literary magazine, The Paw Print, and taking The Tiger’s Roar staff to the LI Press Journalism Award ceremonies.
I have a vast knowledge of many art forms, mediums, art skills and art history. Indeed, I hone these skills into my own work as a freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator as well as in the classroom. I look forward to having the opportunity to share these skills and experiences with your students. I know I can provide the kind of art curriculum and program that the South Huntington School District would want for its students and community. I look forward to meeting with you and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
