Delivery of Instruction:
Day 1:
- Bring students to the media lab. Show the students a slideshow showing them the assignment, how it will be graded and an overview of some of the artists that they can research.
- Distribute the Artist Final Research Project Packet, explain each section and go over the due dates.
- The students should complete the first 10 questions in Part 1A and record their sources. In Part 1B, the students will write about or compare artwork.
- Answer any questions the students might have and then allow them to begin researching artists.
- Circulate amongst the students and try to point them in the direction of an artist they might find interesting based on your knowledge of the students.
Day 2:
- The students will be back in the art room. (Any further research can be done at home. If still looking for an artist, provide books for the students to look through.)
- Introduce Part 2 where the students will brainstorm and create an artwork based on their artist. They will imitate or emulate their artist and will complete the project in class.
- Assist students in any way possible with concept, materials and the process.
